This year's challenge is closed. Thank you for your interest.
September 24-27, 2009
Presented by: the University of Colorado at Boulder Counseling and Psychological Services and Oasis
Sponsored by: CU Housing and Dining Services, CU Recreation Center
Get a break from the usual partying routine.
The Sobriety Weekend Challenge is a chance for you to live your life free from the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. It is a chance to connect with your friends and the world in a new way.
The members of Oasis challenge you to abstain from alcohol or drugs for 96 straight hours. Join us as we work to create a community that fosters connection and wellbeing through sobriety.
If you feel you need help with issues of substance abuse, please contact Counseling and Psychological Services: 303-492-6766 or come to the center for a walk-in counseling session.
Why take a sobriety challenge?
Why not?! Some folks get so wrapped up in the “college party” scene, that every weekend becomes fueled by alcohol and/or drugs. Try to break out of the habit of the usual weekend party scene, and challenge yourself to a weekend of alcohol- and drug- free fun. Can you do it? How hard would it be?
Why Oasis is promoting a sobriety challenge?
We are offering this sobriety challenge to get folks to think about and experience what life has to offer with a clear mind. We challenge you to pledge to a 96-hour period of abstinence, while offering a weekend full of lively events.
How:
- Buddy up for the challenge
- Make a Plan
- Come to the events organized by Oasis or plan you own sober activities
Events:
Take part in social events planned for the weekend.
If you or your organization would like to plan an event and have it listed on this webpage, please contact Matthew Tomatz (matthew.tomatz@colorado.edu, 303-709-5525).
Oasis is a community of students seeking meaningful connections through a sober lifestyle.
