FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- How many times can I apply? As often as you like, as long as
the projects are different. You cannot apply twice in one semester and
you cannot receive more than two assistantships.
- Does UROP cover travel? Yes, as long as your trip is for a
research or creative project and you must be at the location of your
travel in order to do the research.
- Who can sponsor me? You can be sponsored by CU tenure-track
faculty as well as lecturers and instructors.
- Can I get academic credit for my research? If your research
is associated with a course or independent study, you can receive credit
for the research but you can only receive funding for expenses. In other
words, if you're receiving course or independent credit for the research
you cannot pay yourself for doing the work via a stipend; you can, however,
purchase equipment or materials for the work.
- Can my UROP project be an honors thesis? Yes, though you need
to make sure you are aware of the thesis requirements through the Honors
Program and/or your college or department (which may mean that you
need to enroll in an Honors Thesis course).
