May Graduation Check List
If you intend to graduate in May 2014, be sure to complete all the items below by the dates listed.
April 1: Deadline to Apply for Graduation and Get Your Name in the Commencement Program
Your name will appear in the commencement program if you submit your application by 4/1 and are on track to graduate. This includes students graduating in August who want their name in the May program.
To complete the application, log on to MyCUInfo. Under the Student tab click Apply for Graduation and complete the application. Be sure to update your Diploma Name and Address. If you apply to graduate and then decide to graduate in another term, you can reapply in MyCUInfo.
May 2: Final Deadline to Apply for Graduation or Cancel a Graduation Application
Follow the instructions above to apply or to cancel an application. Your name will not appear in the commencement program if you apply after 4/1.
May 9: Commencement Ceremony
For details about the ceremony, visit the Commencement site.
June 1: Update Your Diploma Name and Diploma Address
If you need to make any changes to your preferred Diploma Name or to the address where you would like your diploma mailed, you must do so via MyCUInfo. Click Apply for Graduation and follow the prompts (even if you have already applied) until you see your name and address listed, and edit them there. If you do not enter a Diploma Address in your MyCUInfo profile, your diploma will be mailed to your Home address.
June 14: Spring Degrees Post To Transcripts
Transcripts can be ordered online. For questions about transcripts, contact the Office of the Registrar at email@example.com.
June 16: Clear All Financial Holds
To receive your diploma and transcript, all financial obligations (fines, tickets, fees, etc.) must be paid. You can view and pay your student account in MyCUInfo or at the Bursar’s Office in Regent 150. See payment instructions at the Bursar’s Office, and email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions about your account.
June 20: Sign up For Direct Deposit To Receive Your Confirmation Deposit
To receive your Confirmation Deposit refund, minus any outstanding debt, you must sign up for direct deposit. The Bursar’s Office How To’s page provides step-by-step instructions. Refunds will be directly deposited into your bank account approximately the first week of July. If you have questions about direct deposit, email email@example.com.
July 11: Diplomas Mailed
If you did not enter a Diploma address in your MyCUInfo profile, your diploma will be mailed to the Home address you have on file.
If you do not plan to graduate in May, please disregard this message. To find out graduation requirements, contact your department or advisor.
