This website will not register you for these trips.

When and where do we meet?

Where can I park my car for the duration of CU in the Rockies?

If you are bringing a car out to Boulder, you may want to stop by Parking Services located within the Campus Police Building near the Coors Events Center on the corner of Colorado and Regent. To purchase a temporary one-week permit stop by their office from 8 -5 M-F (the office is closed from 12 - 1 on Tuesday). The parking lots for a one week permit are lots #436 and #308 and the cost is $11.50 for the entire week. For further inquiries, call Parking Services Student Permit Info. at (303) 492-7384.

When can I move into my residence hall?

There is no early move-in to the dorms PRIOR to the trips beginning. Before the trips starts, you will either need to stay at a hotel, or arrive early in the morning. After the trip, students may move into the residence halls. Even if you are not enrolled in the August orientation session, Outdoor Program participants have permission to move-in on the last day of the trip at no fee to you.

How many students will be in my group?

Your group will have between 7 to 12 students and two trip leaders.

How difficult are the activities?

You don't need to be in olympic shape to participate in CU in the Rockies, but being in reasonably good physical condition will increase your enjoyment. We will be hiking at elevations from 8,000 to 13,000 feet and will be carrying packs with all of our food gear in them. Expect your pack to way 35-40 lbs at the start of the trip. Occasionally people get altitude sickness from this type of elevation. Altitude sickness in most cases symptomatically causes headaches and nausea but in extreme cases can be fatal. You can greatly decrease your chance of altitude sickness by being well rested and in good hiking condition.

When is CU in the Rockies over?

CU in the Rockies will end promptly at 7:00 am on the final day of the program.

Where will I meet someone to pick me up when the program ends?

Meet your ride at the Student Recreation Center Outdoor Program Office, Room 208. Refer to the Campus Map.

How can I get a refund if I decide to cancel?

If you cancel more than thirty days prior to the course start date you are entitled to an 80% refund of the trip fee. IF YOU CANCEL LESS THAN THIRTY DAYS PRIOR TO THE COURSE START DATE YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND. This refund policy still applies for emergency situations and for illness. You may want to consider purchasing trip insurance from a travel agent to avoid loss of monies due to unforeseen circumstances. Please call the Outdoor Program with any questions you may have at (303) 492-6080.
