Extended Break Trips
The OP offers several trips that run during the Fall, Spring and Maymester breaks.
Registration Deadlines - all of our trips and most courses have registration deadlines. This is so we can prep gear and ensure that we meet our minimum registration requirements. Please make sure that you register before these deadlines to secure a spot on the trip.
Pre-Trip Meetings - Our Break Trips require attendance at a pre-trip meeting.Course logistics will be discussed at this time. Pre-trip meetings are held in the Outdoor Program Trip Planning Room or Resource Center. Failure to attend this meeting may result in loss of trip fees and inability to participate in the course.
Equipment - All equipment necessary for these trips will be provided. In an effort to keep our costs down and limit the amount of cars used on our trips carpooling is required unless otherwise noted in the course description. Food is not provided and OP employees are instructors, not "guides" so plan to help out during the course.
Fall Break National Park Discovery
Spend your break visiting several of the amazing National Parks that the southwest has to offer. We will head to Arches NP and explore the area on foot as well as by van. We will then head south to the Grand Canyon and spend time checking out the sites of the South Rim. Lastly, we will explore the Ancient Ruins of the Anazasi with a visit to Mesa Verde NP, before heading back to Boulder in time for some turkey!
Trip Cost includes: Park entrance fees, transportation, lodging, and some meals.

Spring Break Trip - Sun & Fun: Florida Keys Beach Trip
Join us on a tropical vacation to the Florida Keys. The location of the trip is Tavernier, FL located on Key Largo. Key Largo is the first island in the chain of islands located off the southern tip of Florida. The island is a great location for an ocean oriented vacation with access to beautiful beaches and clear tropical waters. The trip is designed to offer the participants a variety of activities from scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, biking and spending time on the beach. For divers we will do three days of diving two dives per day and one night dive. The reefs around Key Largo are some of the most beautiful in the Caribbean. There are also some wrecks that we will be able to dive on. Additional days of diving can be arranged. In addition to Scuba Diving the snorkeling is terrific most of the diving locations are located near shallow reefs. Sea Kayaking in this area is great flat water and beautiful mangrove forests to kayak around. Bicycles are available to rent and biking is a fun activity in this area.
Accommodations will be either at a hotel near the dive shop or a private vacation home depending on group size. Meals will be included with some help in preparation from the trip participants. Price does not include travel to and from Tavernier
