Hiking & Backpacking Trips
Registration Deadlines - all of our trips and most courses have registration deadlines. This is so we can prep gear and ensure that we meet our minimum registration requirements. Please make sure that you register before these deadlines to secure a spot on the trip.
Pre-Trip Meetings - Our backpacking courses require attendance at a pre-trip meeting, which will provide you with information related to your enjoyment and safety in the activity. Pre-trip meetings are held in Outdoor Program Trip Planning Room or Resource Center. Failure to attend this meeting may result in loss of trip fees and inability to participate in the course.
Equipment - All equipment necessary for our backpacking courses will be provided. This does not inlcude hiking boots or other personal clothing. Food is not provided unless otherwise noted and OP employees are instructors, not "guides" so plan to help out during the course.
Transportation: In order to keep the costs of our trips as low as possible, Carpooling using participant and instructors cars will take place (please bring $5 gas money for the driver).
