SPRING 2012 DANCE CLASSES

The Rec Center continues to offer a variety of beginner-level, recreational dance classes for fun and social interaction. No experience is necessary. Plus, you can sign up individually, or with a friend ... everyone is welcome. Classes are scheduled in six-week sessions, with two sessions of each class meeting throughout the semester. All Classes meet in the Group Fitness Studio.

Hip Hop

Dance is one of the main elements of the hip hop culture, and the roots of hip hop dance span from East to West coast. This class will cover traditional technical elements of hip hop as well as commercial styles of choreography.

Experience the rythm and culture of Latin America and the Carribbean in this exciting class combining the best of Latin Dance and Cuban Salsa. This class is open to everyone ... no partners or expreience required!

Belly Dance

The undulations of Egypt, the twisting hips of Tunisia, and the wild rythms of Turkey will be covered along with some of the newer innovations from America. Dancers are asked to bring a scarf to tie at your hips.
