CU Fitness & Wellness offers specialty classes/activities appealing to a variety of interests.
Nutrition Series -FREE
Our FREE Fuel Your Body Nutrition Series will answer many of your nutrition questions, provide information on healthful eating as well as strategies to successfully fuel your body. This 30 minute workshops are led by Kathleen Farrell who is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist on campus, and Laura Anderson, Sports Dietitian for CU Athletic Department. No pre-registration required, simply come to the Outdoor Program classroom for an informal discussion on today's hot nutrition topics:
Wednesday, October 12 12:00-12:30 pm Sports Supplements, Questions and Answers
An adult skills based skating instruction class for individuals who have never skated or are looking to improving their skating skill for general recreation skating or intramural hockey. Skate rentals included.
Time: 3:45-4:45 pm

Hockey Skills & Drills Level 1
Designed for those who have little or no Ice Hockey experience. Participants will learn the fundamental skills involved in Ice Hockey such as power skating, stick handling, passing and shooting as well as an understanding of the offical rules of the game. Learn how to play in a positive environment while gaining an appreciation for the game.
Paddle Board Yoga
Take your yoga off the mat and into the pool. Improve balance and gain core strength while practicing the inner awareness of yoga on a paddleboard. This class will enhance inner stability while gently floating on the water.
Please wear a modest bathing suit or clothing appropriate for the pool allowing for movement while doing yoga postures. Class is held in the Dive Well; all participants should be comfortable in deep water.
Find your Fit & Get moving ! Jump start each day with a great workout at the CU Rec Center and earn prizes along the way.
Healthier U is a 6-week program (February 8-March 18) designed to help you "Find Your Fit" and make activity a part of your routine. By committing to a workout at the Rec at least three days a week before 2 pm, Monday-Thursday or anytime on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you can earn prizes like t-shirts, water bottles, free fitness assessment and more.
Healthier U program encourages you to explore different ways to live a healthy lifestyle and rewards you for staying committed. Opportunities to find you fit include Strength Training 101/102, Trainer Time, Outdoor Program Wednesday Workshops, a Nurtrition Education Series and more. Every particpant in the Healthier U program will receive a Log Book to help keep track of what you are doing and how you are progressing. After registering for the program you can pick up your log book at the Fit Well desk.
Returning Spring 2017
Hockey Skills & Drills Level 2
Take your game to the next level. This class will focus on intermediate to advanced personal skills, team play and how to "think hockey". Participants should have experience thru playing on a hockey team or have participated in the Level 1 Hockey Skills & Drills class. If you know the difference between icing and offsides and can outline a basic breakout this class is for you.
