Recreational Skating Hours
Recreational skating hours are open times for students, members of the Recreation Center, and their guests to participate in an open skating session.
Stick and Puck
Stick and Puck is a practice time for shooting skills at no charge. Participants must have a full face shield helmet, gloves and stick. Time is limited to shooting only. Sorry, no hockey games are allowed. Participants must be 18 years of age.
Drop-In Hockey
Drop-in hockey is pick-up, no-check hockey. A helmet with full face shield, gloves, shin guards, skates, and long pants are required to play drop-in. Participants must be 18 years of age and full-fee-paying CU students.
Figure Skate Hour Sessions
These sessions are designed for students, members of the Recreation Center, and their guests to perform jumps, spins, footwork, and other skating moves to music. We hope to accommodate singles, pairs, ice dancing, and synchronize skaters during these sessions. First right-of-way should be given to a skater performing their program to music. Second right-of-way should be given to skaters practicing skill sets. Must be 18 years of age to participate .
Rules and Regulations
Participants must be 18 years or older to skate unless accompanied by a parent or guardian who is in the Ice Arena. Hockey sticks or pucks are not allowed on the ice during recreational skating hours. No independent private lessons are allowed in the rink.
Group Parties
Recreational skating times are available for CU group parties. For rates and to reserve a party time, contact Dan Rummel: dan.rummel@colorado.edu
