Beginning Stream Fly-Fishing
Experience the exhilarating feeling of stream fly fishing. The second class will be on the river learning about trout, their food sources, and the different ways to fly fish (dry fly, emergers, nymphs and streamers). You will also learn the basic knots, how to identify aquatic insects, and how to read the river for the best places to fish. Fee includes instruction and all equipment. You must provide lunch, a fishing license (approximately $5), and your own transportation. The first session of every class meets at the Outdoor Program Office at 6pm on the stated date and that weekend you are on the river.

Beginning Fly Tying
Learn how to tie your own flies for about a quarter a piece! You'll learn basic techniques and styles including tailing, body construction, winging, and how to interpret recipe patterns. This session will include a discussion on related entomology. Also learn where, how and why certain fly designs work. Fee includes everything you need. Sessions are sequential, therefore, missing the first one will automatically cancel your registration.

Advanced Fly Tying
Once you've learned the basics of fly tying, it is time to try something more advanced. Learn to tie unique flies in this class. Fee includes everything you need. Sessions are sequential. Therefore, missing the first session will automatically cancel your registration.

Fly Fishing Rod Building
You'll need a rod building kit for this three-session class. Kits are approximately $200 and can be purchased at fly fishing shops.

Understanding Colorado Tailwaters
Interested in learning to read rivers? This class covers the skills and techniques that are useful in reading the river patterns where fish reside. The first class will meet in the Outdoor Program Office. On Saturday, we'll be at the river all day.
