Overall health and fitness includes your mental attitude as well as the physical.
Keep your mind in tune and your stress levels down with these new classes and seminars.  For Something truly indulgent, try one of our individual massage sessions (below).  As a courtasy to all members, turn off cell phones during class participation.

Chen Style Taijiquan

Tai Chi is a traditional martial aret and health exercise that emphasizes deep relaxation of mind and body.  Through the practice of the Tai Chi form, one will experience how profound relaxation leads to optimal action in self-defense and in application to other physical disciplines.  Because it does not rely on brute force, Tai Chi is a rare example of martial art that can be used effectively by both women and men.  Chen style Tai Chi barehand forms (first form) will be taught in this class.  To find out more about the class, go to "nowspace.colorado.edu/taiji/taichi.html".

This six-week course offers 9 hours of hands-on self-defense training, as taught by qualified self defense experts. Designed to train and prepare people for unexpected assaults, this course covers techniques for awareness, avoidance, and de-escalation of dangerous situations. Physical skills require minimum levels of strength, and include escapes from grabs, hugs, chokes and a basic striking system to distract, stun, or even immobilize an attacker.  The course includes a "graduation class" involving a padded "assailant" which allows students to practice their skills with full action.
