Level Descriptions

This class is geared to the individual who is not comfortable in the water, has never taken a swim class, and has no water abilities (floating, etc.). The focus of the class will be to establish confidence in the water by learning basic water skills, breathing techniques, and progressing to the crawl stroke.

The individual for this class has some experience in the water and has basic water skills, such as floating and paddling. The class will help to strengthen the crawl stroke, build endurance for longer swimming, and teach new strokes.

This class is designed for the individual with prior swimming experience. Participants should be able to swim one length each of freestyle and backstroke. The focus of this class covers stroke technique, efficiency and endurance, as well as practicing deep water skills.

This class is designed for confident swimmers who would like to make swimming part of their workout. Goals of the class are to improve strokes, diving, flip-turns, and speed in the water. Drills for strengthening swimming endurance will be taught.
