Class Descriptions

Fitness Playground
Have fun and get fit with this combination cardio and strength workout.  Activities will include such timeless classics as Jump Rope, Nerf Ball, Weights, and much more.  Come find out how we put the "fun" back into working out. 

Step Aerobics
One of the hottest forms of aerobics in the country, step aerobics incorporates the use of 4" to 8" benches. It combines leg and arm movements with music for modified impact and high intensity workouts. The risk of injury is minimized through careful consideration of proper spinal alignment, knee flexation, and foot placement.

Body Sculpting
This class is a safe, efficient exercise program that leads to improved muscle tone. It is great for anyone who wants to strengthen and stretch isolated muscle groups through the use of one-to-ten pound weights.

Step/Body Sculpting
This class incoporates step and body sculpting and balances the workout with Xertubes or weights. A great all around workout.

Absolutely Abs
Do you have the guts to spend an intense 30 minutes developing the "elusive six pack?" Whether you desire rock-hard, chisled abs or just want to improve abdominal strength, this class is sure to fulfill your expectations.

Deep Water Aerobics
Can you survive the Deep Water?! If you think working out in the water won't challenge you the same as on land, you're right - it will probably challenge you more! Studies show that "it's 12 times tougher to walk through water than through air" (Self Magazine, July 1997). Wearing floatation belts, deep water training allows you to do three workouts in one: aerobics, muscle conditioning, and flexibility improvement, all at the same time, and without the pounding associated with dry-land exercise.

Cardio Kickbox
Combining aerobics with martial arts moves and boxing techniques, Cardio Kickbox Express promises a demanding cardio workout, with particular focus on increasing strength, flexibility and speed of movement. This class will have you out of breath and screaming for more.

Sports Conditioning
This ain't no dance class!! Designed to enhance muscular strength and endurance, this class combines the best of cross-conditioning with calisthenics, pylometrics, speed drills, and just plain power exercising. This class promises a strong physical workout with music for motivation and background.

On the Ball
A new class that combines cardio and strength.
Designed to challenge your core and your balance. This class is sure to excite you and test your limits. Class meets in the East Genral Gym, and space is limited. 

Gutt & Butt Blaster
The perfect combination to help you achieve a "Bootylicious" body. A variety of exercises focusing on the abdominals and gluteals provide a challenging workout for people of all fitness levels. All classes meet in the east general gym.

Boot Camp

Seen it ... heard about it ... do it all before 9:00 am! Be prepared for anything, but be prepared to sweat.

Chisel

Combining the best of strength & conditioning technuques, this class targets all the major muscle groups for the ultimate body pump ... all packed within an efficient 45 minute workout!
