SPRING 2012 MASTER'S SWIM & ADULT SWIM

Master's Swim is a program designed to provide a structured workout environment for swimmers of any fitness & skill level. Workouts vary from emphasizing endurance and building fitness, to speed work and stroke development. You should be able to swim approximately 1,000 yards non-continuous in a 75 minute period.

Free Preview - All classes are free Jan. 17th - 22nd.

Space availability is on a first come basis. No classes over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend or during Spring Break. Classes run January 17th through May 4th.

Adult swim classes are for those who would like to learn a new skill, or build on whatever level of skill and ability they may already have. Class size is kept small and pool access is limited only to the class that's scheduled. Whether you're a total beginner or more advanced recreational swimmer, we have the class to fit your needs.

Classes run in 4-week sessions (8-hours total instruction), and can be repeated or built on as your skill and ability increase.

Mon/Wed classes meet in the Clare Small Pool ... Tues/Thurs classes meet in the Carlson Pool.

Please Note: There are no free trials on Adult Swim Classes.

Descriptions

 
Beginning Adult Swim

For individuals who are not comfortable in the water, have never taken a swim class, and have no water abilities (floating, etcetera). The focus of the class is to establish confidence in the water by learning basic water skills, breathing techniques, and basics of the crawl stroke.

Advanced Beginning Adult Swim

For individuals with some experience in the water and basic water skills such as floating and paddling. The class will strengthen the crawl stroke, build endurance for longer swimming, and teach new strokes.

Intermediate Adult Swim

For individuals with prior swimming experience. Participants should be able to swim one length each of freestyle and backstroke. This class focuses on stroke technique, efficiency, and endurance, as well as deep water skills.
