CU-Boulder offers several energy education and training programs for non-degree seeking students. These programs range from one-day courses on specific energy topics, to full certificate programs offering in-depth training on energy topics. Many of these programs are offered over the Internet, and thus are available to students around the world.
Professional Certificate in Renewable Energy Program
The University of Colorado Boulder, together with the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI), offers a graduate-level professional certificate in renewable energy for online distance learners, non-degree-seeking students, and working professionals interested in gaining insight into the renewable energy industry. Those completing the three-course program receive nine graduate-level credits and earn a Professional Certificate in Renewable Energy granted by the Graduate School of the University of Colorado Boulder, a Tier 1 research institution.
Sustainable Practices Program
The University of Colorado's Environmental Center offers the Sustainable Practices Program. This program offers individual classes and a Professional Certificate in Sustainability Management for people who are interested in the skills needed to consult on or manage a sustainability program for an organization. Whether seeking a new career, additional training to supplement skills, or a professional certificate, the Sustainability Practices Program can help you gain the skills and knowledge needed to make a difference in your career, your organization or your community.
Digital Energy Program
We are now accepting applications for a new graduate program in Digital Energy. The Digital Energy program (DEP) gives students the tools to participate in the new energy economy which combines current and new energy sources with information and communication technologies to make a "smart" energy grid. A key to this change is the underlying communication networks that provide the platform for advanced metering, automation of energy distribution and transmission, and new models of energy system operations. To make a successful transition, the industry workforce needs new skills in IP networks, wireless communication, and network security, all components of the DEP curriculum.
