As a member of the Big 12 Conference, CU-Boulder’s varsity intercollegiate athletics teams compete with Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. Non-conference games are also scheduled every season. Spectators and participants can enjoy men’s and women’s intercollegiate competition in basketball, cross country, golf, alpine and Nordic skiing, volleyball, and indoor and outdoor track and field—as well as women’s soccer and tennis and men’s football.

The Student Recreation Center at the University of Colorado at Boulder is a student fee-funded facility with policy set by the UCSU Joint Board on Recreation Services (mostly a student group). The Student Recreation Center is open seven days a week for approximately 16 hours per day with most of the areas available for open recreation much of the time.
