College exams come in many forms—hourly exams, take-home exams, oral exams, presentations of papers, projects, open-book exams, midterms, and traditional finals. Examination “blue books” are often required for writing essays. You can buy them at the CU Book Store, the Colorado Bookstore, the Norlin Library Copy Center, or at the cash registers in the Alferd Packer Grill during finals week.

If you need to send or receive important documents in a hurry, you can use one of the fax machines on campus for speedy transmission. Also, a variety of meal plan options and services are offered to students in several different on-campus dining venues. Several meal plans are available that offer maximum flexibility and service. Another option is the food service at the UMC, which offers a wide variety of fresh-made meals, bakery treats, restaurants, and catered options to the university and Boulder communities.

Since its creation in 1992, the Chancellor’s Standing Committee on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues has realized several major initiatives benefiting the university, including a certificate program in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies, domestic partner health insurance, an LGBT alumni association chapter, and more. The Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender (GLBT) Resource Center offers general support for the GLBT community, networking for GLBT groups, scholarship opportunities, coordination assistance for GLBT campus events, a resource library, and a gathering space. The center also arranges educational programs including awareness events, speaking engagements, and trainings. The center is a resource for all students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
