Parking Permits Rate Increase

Over the past six months, a parking rate review committee, comprised of representatives from the Boulder Faculty Assembly, Boulder Campus Staff Council, the CU Student Government, and the Boulder campus administration conducted a comprehensive review of the financial position and outlook of the campus parking program.  After taking into consideration operational budget issues and the fact that parking rates had not increased since July 2010, the rate review committee recommended an increase of permit prices by 5% for fiscal year 2013 (July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013). This increase will apply to all permits including: faculty/staff, student, motorcycle, ADA, and business permits.

Faculty/Staff

Faculty and staff can expect to see the parking rate increase reflected in their June pay advice, as parking permit fees are deducted one month in advance. For faculty and staff who may wish to cancel their permit before the increase, they must call Parking and Transportation Services, at 735-8581 to cancel their permit by June 11th in order for the payroll deduction to be processed in time.  The permit will be honored through June 30, 2012.

- Abandoned Bike Removal: PTS removes bikes after the spring semester that appear to be in disrepair, or abandoned to avoid theft or vandalism. At-risk bikes have been flyered several times with a notification of this operation. Bike cuts will occur on both core campus and at racks near all residence hall locations, including Williams Village beginning the week of May 14, 2012. Be sure to remove your bike prior to the end of spring semester 2012, or it will be impounded by PTS.

All bikes that remain parked at impacted bike racks after this date, will be removed and impounded by PTS. Be sure to remove your bike from the impacted rack if the rack contains a "No Parking" sign.

Resident students should take bikes home for the summer, faculty/staff please check your bike to see if it has been flyered for removal or if it is locked a rack that is scheduled for removal on Saturday, May 12.
