Travel within Boulder
The Community Transit Network provides the city of Boulder and surrounding areas with an easy-to-use transit network. Seven routes are available on the brightly-painted HOP, SKIP, JUMP, BOUND, DASH, BOLT and STAMPEDE buses. Theses routes are administered by both the Regional Transportation District (RTD) and Special Transit, and are free with a valid Eco Pass or Student Bus Pass. Travel Outside Boulder
- Please call RTD at 303-299-6000 or view the RTD web site to confirm the below information.
- All routes EXCEPT the skyRide (starting in January of 2009), RockiesRide, and BroncosRide are free with a valid Eco Pass or Student Bus Pass.
- Ride the J or Bolt route to the Roosevelt Park-n-Ride in Longmont to access the non-RTD FLEX route with service to Fort Collins via Berthoud and Loveland. Free with your Eco Pass/student bus pass.

Getting to Denver International Airport
The RTD skyRide will get you to and from Boulder and DIA. Boulder’s AB route is one of eight metro-area routes to serve the airport. The AB route has 18 buses per day with one bus each hour. Boulder stops include the Boulder Station (14th and Walnut), Broadway and 16th Street, Broadway and 27th Way, and the Table Mesa park-n-Ride. Starting in January 2009, RTD will implement a $5 surcharge for Eco Pass holders traveling to DIA.
Getting to other CU campuses
- CU Denver — Take the #B/BX Denver Express to Denver. Get off at the Market Street Station Gate 8. Go to Blake and 17th Streets (W corner of the intersection) and take the #12/12 Auraria 12 via Downtown. Get off at Larimer and 14th Streets. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes.
- Anchutz Medical Campus/Fitzsimons Life Science District — RTD’s DM route offers daily weekday morning departures from Boulder to Fitzsimons and 3 weekday evening returns to Boulder. Boulder stops are at Boulder Station, Broadway and 16th Street, Broadway and 27th Way and the Table Mesa park-N-Ride. As morning departures vary, please visit the RTD web site for departure times. The three return trips depart Fitzsimons between 4:10 and 5:10 p.m.
Ski-n-Ride (Route N)
Get to the ski slopes of Eldora Mountain Resort quickly from the RTD Boulder Station at 14th and Walnut. This service is available 7 days a week during ski season with a schedule that accommodates full- or half-day skiing.
RockiesRide
RockiesRide provides bus service to all weekend and select weekday Rockies games. 14 metro area locations provide RockiesRides, and Boulder pick ups are at Boulder High School and the Table Mesa park-N-Ride. Pick ups range from 60 to 115 minutes before the game starts. The last bus leaves Coors Field 45 minutes post-game. Fare is $3 each way. Eco Pass and the Student Bus Pass are not part of this program.
BroncosRide
This service provides transportation to Denver Broncos games. 28 metro area park-N-Ride lots provide BroncosRides, and Boulder pick ups are at Boulder High School and the Table Mesa park-N-Ride. Pick ups range from 60 to 150 minutes before kick off. The last BroncosRide bus leaves INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium 45 minutes post-game. Round-trip fare is $8; Eco Pass and the Student Bus Pass are not part of this program.
Accessible Transit
All Regional Transportation District (RTD) and Community Transit Network (CTN) buses, as well as light rail vehicles, are ADA accessible.
Special Transit
Special Transit is a not-for-profit organization that provides door-to-door transportation services to people of all ages who cannot access or afford other transit alternatives. Special Transit serves all areas of Boulder County as well as some adjoining towns in counties contiguous with Boulder County. Call 303-447-9636 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to start the new client process or to schedule a ride.
Access-A-Ride
Special Transit also provides the access-A-Ride service for the entire Regional Transportation District (RTD). Users of this service must be certified for eligibility. Call 303-299-2960 for eligibility information. This program is not included in the Eco Pass or Student Bus Pass Program.
Winter Service Changes 2012
RTD will be implementing its winter service changes on Sunday, January 22, 2012. Many routes servicing campus will be impacted including the 203, 209, 225, BV/BF/BX/BMX, DM, J, JUMP, S, and STAMPEDE. See below for detailed descriptions and maps.
STAMPEDE: Route on Main Campus, Research Park & East Campus will change significantly; service frequency to stay the same. View new route map here.
- Research Park & East Campus: Service will run in both directions on Colorado, Foothills Parkway, and Arapahoe with a one-way, clockwise loop on 38th, Marine, 30th and Arapahoe.
- Main Campus: Service will run in both directions on Colorado between Regent Drive and 18th Street. Service on Regent Drive will be discontinued. Alternative service on Regent Drive will be the Route 209.
- On East Campus, service will be discontinued on 30th Street between Colorado and Marine Street. Alternate service on 30th Street will be the Route BOUND.
209: Route through campus will change significantly; service frequency reduced significantly. View new route map here.
- Service on Colorado and 18th Street between Regent Drive and Euclid Avenue will be discontinued. Alternate service on Colorado and 18th Street will be the STAMPEDE route.
- Service will run in both directions on Regent Drive between Broadway and Colorado to Euclid/18th Street.
- Morning rush-hour service between CU and Mohawk/Baseline will be reduced from every 10 minutes to every 15 minutes and 30-minute service after 9:20 a.m.
- Service will be rerouted to serve the Table Mesa park-n-Ride. Morning rush-hour service between Table Mesa park-n-Ride and Mohawk/Baseline will be reduced from every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes and 60-minute service at all other times. Minor schedule adjustments will be made.
J: Route through Main campus will change significantly; route in Longmont will be shortened significantly; service frequency to stay the same. View new route map here.
- Due to the construction at Broadway and Euclid Avenue, all southbound trips will be detoured off of Colorado and 18th Street onto Regent Drive as follows: From 26th and Regent Drive, left from 26th Street onto Regent, continue on Regent, right on Broadway, right on NEW Euclid (located just before the old Euclid Avenue), right on 18th Street, left on Broadway, and regular route. Minor schedule adjustments will be made to southbound stop times.
- Northbound route will remain the same; minor schedule adjustments will be made to northbound stop times.
- Service will be discontinued west of Main/23rd Street to Hover/Boston in Longmont.
203: Service will be discontinued. Alternative route is the 225.
225: Service to East Boulder Recreation Center will be reduced from every 30 minutes to every 60 minutes; minor schedule adjustments will also be made.
BV/BF/BX/BMX: Routes from US 36 corridor, to and from downtown Denver.
- One additional BV bus will be added to the schedule for all-day service.
- BX service on Saturday will be discontinued.
- BMX service will make stops at US 36 & McCaslin park-n-Ride.
- Minor schedule adjustments will be made
DM: An eastbound trip at 5:34 a.m. and a westbound trip at 5:09 p.m. will be added. Minor schedule adjustments will be made.
JUMP: route to and from Lafayette via Arapahoe.
- Service will be discontinued on 95th Street, Baseline Road, and US 287. The alternative service will be route 225.
- Midday service will be discontinued east of 111th Street to the Erie Recreation Center and service will only be to the Lafayette park-n-Ride. Minor schedule adjustments will also be made.
S: The trip at 7:07 a.m. from Market Street Station and the 3:29 p.m. trip from Pearl/49th Street will be discontinued.
