Applying to CU-Boulder

Admission to CU-Boulder is competitive. Many factors are considered in evaluating your application, including the quality of your course work, your grade point average, your college entrance test scores (SAT or ACT), the trend in your grades, and your potential contributions to the campus community.

Applying for 2008 Terms
As of July 15, we are no longer accepting applications for the summer and fall 2008 terms.

To apply for admission, follow the three steps in this section to complete the application process.

AttentionApplying for 2009 Terms and Later
If you are interested in applying for a term beginning in 2009 or later, create a CUView by filling out a contact card and you will be added to the prospective student mailing list.

Step one: Get Ready

This section will let you know what the admission office is looking for during the application review.You will find priority dates for submitting your application.

Step two: Apply Online

This section will step you through the application process with detailed instructions, checklist for you to print out, and information on how to apply online.

Step Three: After Application

After completing your application, you can check the status page to track your status in the application process. Be sure to start applying for financial aid and scholarships right away. Learn how to confirm your intent to enroll and what your next steps are.

I'm Admitted...Now What?

Now that you have been admitted, this section will help guide you to your next steps in become a CU-Boulder student.

Freshman Students
You are a freshman applicant if you are currently enrolled in high school or you have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent and have not enrolled at any college or university since graduation.

Transfer Students
You are a transfer applicant if you have enrolled at another college or university or another campus of the University of Colorado (including the Division of Continuing Education and Professional Studies) since earning a high school diploma or its equivalent. You are not a transfer student if the only college-level classes you have taken where while you were still enrolled in high school.

International Students
Individuals holding any type of temporary visa are required to use the application designed for international students. Refer to the prospective international student web site for more information.

Readmit Students
If you are applying to a degree program at CU-Boulder that you were previously enrolled in or to another program at the undergraduate level, you are required to use the readmit application. Refer to the readmit student section for information.

Continuing Education (Nondegree Students)
If you wish to take university courses but do not currently intend to earn a degree at the University of Colorado, apply as a nondegree student. Refer to the Continuing Education web site for more information.
