This 2009-10 transfer guide is based on degree requirements for CU-Boulder's Leeds School of Business. Colorado community college students can use this guide to plan their program of study and selection of courses.
Transfer Advising
Before entering the final semester at a Colorado community college prior to transfer, students should consult with a transfer advisor in Leeds School of Business at CU-Boulder to plan a course of study.
Any formerly enrolled degree-seeking student in the Leeds School of Business must consult with an advisor prior to taking courses at an outside institution. These students are not permitted to take business-related courses at other colleges or universities.

Statewide Transfer Agreement
Students who begin studies at a Colorado community college in the fall of 2003 or later and who complete an Associate of Arts degree in Business may transfer a maximum of 60 credits to CU-Boulder. Note: Students must first be admitted to the Leeds School of Business based on competitive admissions standards before the guaranteed credit transfer takes place. This guarantee applies to students who have taken only the courses listed below within the Colorado community college System no more than 10 years prior to transfer to CU-Boulder.
Students who wish to transfer without completing an associate degree may do so if they meet CU-Boulder's admission criteria. If you have community college credit more than 10 years old, or have college credit taken outside of the Colorado community college system, please contact CU-Boulder's Office of Admissions at 303-492-6301 for assistance prior to enrollment in community college courses.
Transfer Prerequisites
Students who intend to apply for transfer must complete the following prerequisites courses:
- College Algebra (MAT 121) or Finite Mathematics (MAT 123) or two semesters of calculus
- Survey of Calculus (MAT 125) or Calculus I (MAT 201)
- Microeconomics (ECO 202)
- Macroeconomics (ECO 201)
MAPS Requirements
The Leeds School of Business MAPS requirements apply to students who graduated from high school in the spring of 1988 or later. Students are required to complete 17 units of course work at the high school level or to make up the deficiencies at the college level. (A unit is equivalent to one year of high school work, or a semester of college-level work.) The 17 units include:
- 4 English
- 4 mathematics (includes at least two of algebra, 1 of geometry, and 1 of college-preparatory mathematics)
- 3 natural science (includes 2 of laboratory science, 1 of which must be either chemistry or physics)
- 3 of social science (including 1 of US or world history and 1 of geography; if US history is used to meet the history requirement, then the geography requirement may be met with .5 unit of geography and .5 unit of world history)
- 3 of a single foreign language

- BUS 216 Ð Legal Environment of Business (equivalent to BCOR 3000, except does not count for upper division)
- BUS 226 Ð Business Statistics (equivalent to BCOR 1020)
- MAN 226 Principles of Management (equivalent to BCOR 2150)
- MAR 216 Principles of Marketing (equivalent to BCOR 2050)
