How do I order a CU-Boulder Catalog?
Before ordering a catalog, you may want to look online, where you can view the complete catalog and the Schedule Planner, which lists course offerings, professor ratings, and required books. If you prefer a printed copy, order it online or call the CU Book Store at 303-492-7599.

I heard I can earn my bachelor's degree and master's degree at the same time. How do I find out about it?

A limited number of departments offer concurrent bachelor's/master's degree programs to currently enrolled CU-Boulder students. These programs allow a student to earn both the bachelor's degree and the master's degree simultaneously in a condensed time frame. Click here for a list of all concurrent degree programs.
I was accepted for admission in the fall. Can I take a class during the summer to get ahead in my course work?
Yes, a limited selection of courses are offered for graduate students during the summer. To attend summer session before enrolling in a degree program, contact the Division of Continuing Education, University of Colorado at Boulder, 1505 University Ave., 178 UCB, Boulder, CO, 80309-0178, 303-492-5145 and ask about the ACCESS program for nondegree students. Course work completed by a nondegree student is considered transfer work and is subject to the rules and policies for transfer credit.
I was thinking about applying for graduate school next year and would like to take a couple of classes before I'm accepted. Can I do that?
Yes, as a nondegree student you may take courses that may be applicable to your graduate program. Nondegree credits are counted as transfer credit and are subject to the rules and standards for transfer credit. We recommend that you contact the department to which you are applying to discuss your course selections. For more information regarding nondegree (ACCESS) work, contact the Division of Continuing Education, University of Colorado at Boulder, 1505 University Ave., 178 UCB, Boulder, CO, 80309-0178, 303-492-5145 and ask about the ACCESS program for nondegree students.
I live outside of Colorado but would like to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder. Do you have distance education programs that would allow me to complete a degree from my home?
The Center for Advanced Engineering and Technology Educatoin's (CAETE) distance learning program offers graduate engineering courses via the Internet and does not require on-campus attendance in classes. Immigration documents to apply for F-1 or J-1 visas will not be issued for distance learning (CAETE) students. Please refer to the CAETE website for more information on this program. The University of Colorado at Boulder does not currently offer other distance education programs.
I work full time but would like to pursue a graduate degree. Is it possible to earn a degree by attending the University of Colorado at Boulder part time?
Many of our programs are flexible and allow for part-time participation. However, the University of Colorado at Boulder is largely a traditional, residential campus, and many departments have limited course offerings during evening or weekend hours. Contact individual departments for information on completing a degree as a part-time student.

Requirements
What are the requirements for admission to graduate school? Does my department require GRE, GMAT, or TOEFL scores, and what is the minimum score required?

Note:  The CU-Boulder institution code for the GRE, GMAT, and TOEFL exams is 4841.
I recently applied to graduate school at the University of Colorado at Boulder and have just received a letter from the department saying that I have been admitted to the university, but that I will receive more information from the Office of Admissions. Have I been admitted?
Domestic applicants: The admission process is not complete until you receive a confirmation package from the Office of Admissions. You must return the confirmation card and your $200 enrollment deposit before your admission to the university is final.

International applicants: As a courtesy to international students, this $200 enrollment deposit is deferred to your first tuition bill, which you will receive after you register. You must pay the deposit when you pay your tuition fees; it will be refunded to you upon your graduation or withdrawal from the university, provided all requirements have been met.
I took graduate courses at another institution. How many credits can I transfer toward a degree at CU-Boulder?
The Graduate School has established maximum transfer credit limits. Departments may have more restrictive standards; check on your department's specific transfer standards.
