I would like to apply to graduate school at the University of Colorado at Boulder. How can I get an application package?
| For information on all the academic programs offered
to graduate students at CU-Boulder, read the department overviews regarding degrees offered, admission
requirements, department standards, test scores, supplemental materials,
and deadlines. Be sure to contact the department regarding any additional
materials that might be required; many of the graduate departments
require supplemental application material. Click here to begin the application process. |
What is the deadline for submitting my graduate application?
Each graduate department sets its own application deadlines. Go to the Academic section for department information, degree requirements, and application deadlines.
I just submitted my application for graduate school. When will I receive a decision?
Several factors are involved in notifying students about admissions decisions. Your best information will come from the department, which will tell you which semester(s) it admits new students, what the decision process is, and how your application fits in the cycle of application review. Contact the department you applied to regarding your application status.
I recently applied to graduate school at the University of Colorado at Boulder and have just received a letter from the department saying that I have been admitted to the university, but that I will receive more information from the Office of Admissions. Have I been admitted?
Domestic applicants: The admission process is not complete until you receive a confirmation package from the Office of Admissions. You must return the confirmation card and your $200 enrollment deposit before your admission to the university is final. International applicants: As a courtesy to international students, this $200 enrollment deposit is deferred to your first tuition bill, which you will receive after you register. You must pay the deposit when you pay your tuition fees; it will be refunded to you upon your graduation or withdrawal from the university, provided all requirements have been met.
What if my application is incomplete? How will I know that all of my application materials have been received?
Departments generally alert applicants when materials are missing. You will be contacted by the department via e-mail or phone if your application is incomplete.
I applied to CU-Boulder and was accepted for this fall, but I can't start until spring. Can I postpone my admission?
Most departments will allow you to defer your admission for up to one year. Contact your department to make arrangements.
Does CU-Boulder require letters of recommendation?
All graduate departments require three to four letters of recommendation.
Does the Graduate School require essays or other supplemental information in the application package?
Each department determines its own additional application requirements, such as writing samples, essays, audio or video tapes, or portfolios. Contact the department to which you are applying for complete application information.
