Application status check is a secure online tool that lets you follow the progress of your admission application and related processes from initial submission to your final admission decision and beyond.
After we have received your application in the Office of Admissions, a university student identification number and personal identification number (PIN)* is created for you. You will receive a letter that includes your PIN approximately two to three weeks after your application has been received in our office. Once you have received your student identification number and PIN, you will be able to check your application status using this web site (see sign in at right). You can also use your student identification number and PIN to access the online CU-Boulder scholarship application, so make sure you keep your number in a safe place.*
It typically takes six to eight weeks from the time your application and credentials are received in our office for an admission decision to be made, but at certain times of the year (i.e., as priority dates approach) the process will take longer. In addition, if credentials are missing, or an initial review of your application determines that more information is needed (such as first semester grades or test scores), the processing time will also increase.
Keep in mind that most items sent by mail typically require
10 days to two weeks to reach our office, as well as additional time for
processing.
Freshman Applicants Not Granted Admission
If you are not granted admission as an entering freshman, you can consider
transferring to
CU-Boulder after successful study elsewhere. We encourage you to complete
at least one full year of transferable college or university course work,
including any courses outlined in the minimum
academic preparation standards (MAPS) that you did not meet in high
school.
