Student Life
CU-Boulder students come from all 50 states and approximately 100 countries, bringing a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives to campus. CU-Boulder is a major research university with a small college atmosphere, with 90 percent of full-time faculty members teaching undergraduate classes, and 85 percent of all undergraduate classes enrolling fewer than 50 students. Beyond the many outstanding academic and residence life opportunities, CU-Boulder students can also get involved in a variety of cocurricular activities. Housing
Living in a campus residence hall is a great way for freshman students to make the transition to college life. Our residence halls promote a strong sense of friendship and community. CU-Boulder residence halls offer a complete living environment, with a variety of floor plans, lots of social activities, and additional services like academic tutoring. Many halls also contain dining centers, faculty and administrative offices, and small classrooms. As part of the first-year experience, students may participate in any one of a number of innovative residential academic programs (RAPs) or living and learning communities. Students participating in residential academic programs attend one or two selected courses right in their hall and take advantage of additional activities and opportunities.
