After Admission For International Students
After you have been notified that you’ve
been admitted, International
Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), in the Office of International
Education, will be one of your main contacts at the university. You will
receive a welcome letter with information on orientation, registration,
finances, getting to Boulder and housing suggestions. You will also receive
information from the Office of the Registrar, Housing and Dining Services,
and your department, college, or school.
Confirming
Your Intent to Enroll
Unlike domestic students, international students do not need to submit
confirmation forms to the Office of Admissions. If you have been officially
admitted to the university, the Office of Admissions automatically confirms
your intent to enroll and defers your enrollment deposit. If you do not
intend to enroll at CU-Boulder, see Canceling Your Admission.
Undergraduate Students Planning to Attend CU-Boulder
Although you do not need to submit a confirmation form to the Office of
Admissions, you may need to respond to other offices (i.e. housing, orientation,
international student and scholar services, etc.). You will receive information
from these offices by mail after you have been officially admitted to
the university.
Graduate Students Planning to Attend CU-Boulder
Although you do not need to submit a confirmation form to the Office of
Admissions, you should notify your department as to whether or not you
intend to accept your offer of admission, as well as any funding package
you may have received.
Paying Your Enrollment Deposit
All new students admitted to the University of Colorado at Boulder,
including international students, are required to pay a one-time enrollment
deposit. This deposit cannot be waived. However, as a courtesy to international
students, this $200 enrollment deposit is deferred to your first
tuition bill, which you will receive after you register. You must
pay the deposit when you pay your tuition and fees; it will be refunded
to you upon your graduation or withdrawal from the university, provided
all requirements have been met.
Deferring Your Admission/
Changing Your Term of Enrollment
Undergraduate Students
If you are a new undergraduate (freshman or transfer) student, you may
request a deferral of your enrollment for up to one year by writing, faxing,
or e-mailing the Office of Admissions. The request should include information
regarding your plans during the interim period. You may also be required
to submit additional academic information before a deferral is approved.
All deferral requests must be received before the first day of classes
of the original term of enrollment.

Graduate Students
If you are a new graduate student, you may inquire about changing your
term of enrollment. All term change requests and questions must be directed
to your department.

Canceling Your Admission
Undergraduate Students
If you decide not to enroll at the University of Colorado at Boulder,
notify the Office of Admissions in writing (by regular mail, fax, or e-mail).
Include your full name, student identification number, and term/year (i.e.
Fall 2003) in your letter.
