Confirm Your Intent to Enroll
You will receive a confirmation package from the Office of Admissions. Admission is not final until you have acknowledged your intent to enroll with the department; followed any instructions the department has issued; returned the confirmation card as instructed by the Office of Admissions; submitted the $200 enrollment deposit; and followed any instructions regarding acceptance of offers of financial aid or support. If you applied for in-state residency, you will be notified by the Office of the Registrar as part of the confirmation process if you qualify.

Housing Information
Off-Campus Housing
Most graduate students typically live in one of the many apartments, condominiums, or houses in Boulder. Off-Campus Student Services (a service of UCSU) maintains listings of rooms, houses, and apartments for rent in the Boulder community. Students may come to the office in the University Memorial Center to obtain a set of computerized rental listings (available for a small fee). Students wishing to receive information through the mail may do so by sending $10 (within the United States) and $15 (outside the United States) to Off-Campus Student Services, 206 UCB, Boulder, CO 80309-0206. Checks should be made payable to the University of Colorado. The packet will include an apartment complex summary, a Boulder map, the Boulder Tenant's Guide, and other pertinent information on living and renting in Boulder.

For additional information about living off campus, write to the above address or call 303-492-7053. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. During July and August, the office is also open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Family Housing
For families, married couples, and single parents, the university maintains furnished and unfurnished one-, two-, or three-bedroom apartments a short walk from campus. A limited number of efficiency or studio apartments are available to single graduate students who are 21 or older. Prices here are less expensive than in the Boulder community. Eligible applicants must be registered as full time students. Only students and members of their immediate families may reside here. These apartment complexes offer onsite laundry facilities, playgrounds, and access to the day care center for housing residents. Nearby shopping is accessible by walking or city bus.

Registration and Orientation
The Office of the Registrar will be notified of your admission and will send registration materials and information at the appropriate time. Departments notify incoming students about departmental and campus wide new student orientations.

For more information, contact the department you applied for.

Sign Up for Health Insurance

The University of Colorado endorses a policy of mandatory health insurance requiring all students on Boulder campus be covered by a comprehensive health insurance plan. Students may have coverage under their own individual, employer, parents, or spouse/domestic partner health plan.

However, all CU-Boulder students enrolled for one (1) or more credit hours are automatically enrolled and billed $650 for the Golden Buffalo Student Health Insurance "Student Gold" comprehensive plan unless they select the "Student Value" supplemental plan or waive the insurance by September 1, 2004 for Fall semester and January 19, 2005 for the Spring semester. For health plan information online go to www.colorado.edu/studenthealthinsurance.

The university pays a portion of the cost for the "Student Gold" comprehensive plan fro teaching, research, and graduate assistants and graduate part time instructors with at least 20-percent appointment.

Get Your Buff OneCard
The Buff OneCard is the official identification card for all students, faculty, and staff at CU-Boulder. By showing this card, students gain access to campus privileges, such as eating in dining halls, checking out library books, and getting into computer labs, residence halls, and the Student Recreation Center.

Bus Service
Student fees pay for students to have a bus pass each semester, which means that a Buff OneCard with a valid RTD decal sleeve makes students eligible for free bus rides throughout Boulder and the Denver metropolitan area, including rides to Denver International Airport (DIA) and the Eldora Mountain ski area.

For more information, go to the Buff OneCard web site at www.buffonecard.com.
