Step 4) Plan to Attend an Orientation Session

Orientation sessions are required for new freshman and transfer students. Specific dates, times, and locations vary.

If you enroll in the College of Arts and Sciences, you are expected to attend an orientation program in June or July and will also register for classes at that time. An August program is available for out-of-state residents who cannot attend orientation earlier in the summer. After you confirm your intent to enroll, you will be sent information on how to reserve a place in an orientation session either online or by mail. Telephone reservations are not accepted.

Business students may attend orientation in June, July, or August and will be pre-registered for classes in June. Students enrolled in the Colleges of Engineering and Applied Science, Architecture and Planning, or Music are required to attend orientation in August. After you confirm your intent to enroll, specific information about orientation sessions will be sent to you from the appropriate office.

You can find more detailed information about orientation on the Office of Orientation web site at: www.colorado.edu/orientation/.

Readmit students

If you are a readmitted student, you should consult with your academic advisor before you register for classes. For more information, refer to the College of Arts and Sciences Academic Advising Center web site. You will find a list of advisors that includes telephone numbers, office locations, and appointment schedules.
