Exploration Expands the Classroom

You can augment your collegiate experience with a variety of research, study abroad, faculty mentoring, scholarships, and other programs that will introduce you to brand-new thoughts and experiences.

Academic Enrichment Programs
We have programs for you if you seek leadership training, research experience, academic honors, the mentoring of peers and faculty, international experience, community involvement, military officer training, and more.
Bullet CU-LEAD Alliance
The CU-LEAD Alliance offers scholarship opportunities for highly motivated students and allows recipients to participate in programs that promote academic excellence and personal and professional success in a supportive, multicultural community.
Bullet Independent Study
With departmental approval, students may register for independent study during the normal registration periods for each semester.
Bullet Volunteer/Service Learning
A growing part of the curriculum at CU-Boulder incorporates community service with learning. More than 30 departments offer a total of 90 service learning courses.
Bullet ROTC
The Reserve Officer Training Corps combines academic study with a military officer's educational program, while allowing students the option of serving in regular or reserve commission after graduation.

INVST Community Studies
INVST project

The INVST Community Studies programs develop engaged citizens and leaders who work for the benefit of humanity and the environment. They offer a two-year Community Leadership Program;
Community Studies Electives; and A Youth Council for Public Policy program.
