Discovery Starts in the Classroom

As a CU-Boulder student, you can enhance your collegiate experience with a variety of enrichment opportunities. Students from around the world come here to test themselves, pursuing rigorous intellectual challenges through honors, leadership, and research opportunities.

Residential Academic Programs (RAPS) and Living and Learning Communities
One of the things that really sets CU-Boulder apart are our unique residential academic programs. RAPS allow you to take select courses in your residential hall, in a small-group setting. Living and Learning Communities also enhance the learning environment. There are several communities that offer themed housing that do not have the formal connection to faculty as found in the RAPs. There are 13 programs in different areas of interests, such as:

Research Opportunities
Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)
UROP was designed to create research partnerships between faculty and undergraduate students in all disciplines for research or creative work.
Bioscience Undergraduate Research Skills and Training (BURST)
BURST provides an hourly wage to undergraduate students desiring to gain research experience. Students who receive funding through this program work on biomedical/bioscience projects under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
