Q: How do I
order business cards?
Business cards are usually ordered in multiples of 250. However, we
are also now offering a 100-card quantity. Normal turn around time
is less than two weeks, however rush orders can be placed for an
additional $27.60.
Prices include typesetting and
printing.
Cards can be ordered in person
at our Stadium 280 location. By sending a copy of your old card with
corrections, quantity, billing information, and contact information
you can order via fax to 303-492-0959 or via campus mail to box 377
UCB. Or you can order by our most popular order option,
Order Online. Even if you do not
order online, these pages are the easiest way to view the various
styles and color options.
Call a Printing Services representative at 492-2679 (492-COPY) for
additional information.
Q: How do I
order stationery items (letterhead, envelopes, mailing labels)?
Standard letterhead, envelopes and mailing labels are ordered in
multiples of 500. Custom orders can be ordered in any quantity.
Normal turn around time for standard format items is less than two
weeks, however rush orders can be placed for an additional $25.00 or
10% of the order cost, whichever is greater. Pricing can be
determined from the following price lists.
Placing orders is quick and easy.
Simply provide a sample of the item with any changes marked, an IN or
A-Card number, contact information, and specify quantity and other
pertinent information regarding your order. Orders may be placed in
person at Printing Services, sent through campus mail to Campus Box 377
UCB, or faxed to 303-492-0959. A fourth option is to
Order Online. In this case a sample
is not required. Even if you do not order online, these pages are the
easiest way to view the various styles and color options.
Call a Printing Services representative at 492-2679 (492-COPY) for
additional information.
Q: When should I
choose Copy Centers and when should I choose Printing Services?
Typically, projects with quantities of 1000 or more are produced at
our printing facility. Offset printing in these quantities is more
cost- effective and can offer significant savings to your
department. Conversely, projects with quantities under 1000 are
usually more effectively produced on one of our high-speed
duplicators in our copying division. Certainly there are exceptions
based on artwork and quality expectations and one of our service
representatives in any center is always available to advise you on
those decisions.
Q: What if I need to have my
project designed?
PCS can help you with ideas or provide complete and creative graphic
design for your project. Please contact us at 492-2679 (492-COPY)
with questions or for help.
Q: How should I prepare my
artwork?
Camera-ready artwork can be prepared in a number of acceptable ways.
Any black and white original with artwork and type in position is
considered camera-ready. If you have a piece with more than one
color, overlays or separated art are the best ways to present your
project for printing production. Photographs are reproduced with
maximum quality when they are provided as continuous tone originals
(indicate where they are to be placed in your art) and Printing
Services screens them for the printing process. Pre-screened art and
photographs can lose quality in the pre-press and printing
processes. Crop marks are desirable (except on pieces that are going
to be photocopied). Again please feel free to contact any Printing
Services representative for clarification.
Q: What kinds of paper and inks
are available to me?
Printing Services:
Printing Services has hundreds of choices in paper stocks and ink
colors. From 20# white bond to 110# Index, from black to
fluorescent, combinations are only limited by the imagination.
Clearly, we don’t have enough room to stock all of the papers
available to us, but we can order whatever we need and usually
receive it within one to two days. Rush jobs requiring a turnaround
of 3 days or less may require choosing a stock we already have in
house.
Copying Services:
Copying Services has access to all of the same choices in paper as
Printing Services. However, due to the usually higher demand for
quick turnarounds from a copy service, clients generally choose from
papers we already have in stock. If you would like to choose a
stock, which requires a special order, the turnaround on your
project may have to be extended. Copying Services only uses black in
their production EXCEPT for the Color Copier, which can produce full
color copies.
Q: How much is it going to cost?
Price lists for
university stationery, envelopes, mailing
labels, and business cards
are fixed and updated occasionally to reflect increases in material
costs. Other than these four standard items, Printing Services can
provide you with an estimated cost for your project on a
case-by-case basis. Estimates are generally completed within 24
hours. Contact a client services representative in Printing Services
at 492-2679 (COPY) for additional cost information. For prices at
Copying Services you can check the Copying
Services Price List
or contact a client services representative at 492-2679 (COPY).
Q: How long will it take to
complete my project?
Turnarounds will vary depending upon our production schedules at
PCS, however, we are customer-driven and will make every effort to
meet your deadline requirements. Contact a client services
representative in Printing Services or Copying Services for detailed
information about turnaround times.
