Dr. Leah Colvin is the Director of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. Dr. Colvin has served postdoctoral scholars for a number of years as a member of the Mayo Research Fellows Association and as the president of the University of Minnesota Postdoctoral Association. These positions have provided her with broad experience in postdoctoral policies at national and institutional levels, postdoctoral career development in a range of academic and non-academic careers, and work-life balance for postdoctoral scholars.
Dr. Colvin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota in 2003 and her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences – Tumor Biology from Mayo Graduate School in 2011. She went on to complete her postdoctoral training at the University of Minnesota, where she was awarded fellowships through the Minnesota Craniofacial Research Training Program (MinnCResT) and the American Cancer Society. Prior to joining the University of Colorado, Boulder, she served as the staff Scientific Writer for a pharmaceutical contract research organization and as a freelance scientific and medical writer.
