The Model U.N. team of CU Boulder enjoyed outstanding success at the American Model United Nations (AMUN) International Collegiate Conference last November. The department of political science funded the four day trip to Chicago, where CU's students represented Croatia and Mauritius in a United Nations simulation.
The team received two awards for 'position papers' — papers written before the conference that explain a country's position on controversial topics.
Apart from the conference, Model U.N. hosted two events on the CU Boulder campus. The first was for the United Nations International Day For Tolerance. Representatives from the African Student Association, Project Nur, and the International Diversity Alliance sat on a panel and answered questions regarding their personal experiences with intolerance on campus. The second was a Model U.N. conference for high school students from Colorado that attracted more than 200 participants
