Information Technology and Technical Services Division
Technical, Information and DPS Support Services is responsible for the Communications Center, Police Records and Technical Services Support duties.
Communications is responsible for answering phone calls, dispatching staff via radio and a myriad of other communications functions. This unit is staffed 24x7x365.
Police Records maintains all official police report documents including reports such as crime reports, arrest reports and others. In addition, citations and other documents are maintained in this unit, which is open from 8-12 and 1-5 on normal weekdays, excluding State holidays.
The technical services division is responsible for implementing and maintaining technology to assist the community and department members. The division operates the computer systems and networks that are used by department members to file, track and store crime reports and investigations. The division maintains the emergency "blue light" phones across campus. The division also is involved in technical items such as video surveillance.
The division is also responsible for processing evidence, maintaining custody and care of all property including evidence, found property and other items.
The division also handles items such as fleet maintanance, writing and managing grants for the department and other duties.
