Crime Prevention Programs

Community Service Aides

Students conduct core campus and parking facility safety patrols on foot and by bicycle. They do weekly tests of the emergency telephones and report lights out on campus. See More about CSA program for a great opportunity!

Crime Stoppers

Anonymous callers receive rewards for calling in tips that lead to arrests. The program is affiliated with Boulder County Crime Stoppers.

Criminal History Checks/Background Checks

The police department conducts criminal history / background checks on potential employees at the request of University departments.

Neighborhood Watch

Officers work with University family housing residents to reduce and report crime. Participants also are encouraged to join Operation Identification.

Office Watch

Office complexes are given a security survey and enrolled in Operation Identification. Office personnel are trained to recognize and confront suspicious persons and to notify the police.

Stakeout Program

Students (CSAs) are hired to watch high crime areas from select stakeout posts. They radio in reports of suspicious and criminal activity.

Vacation Watch

Patrol officers check on family housing apartments while the residents are on vacation.
