We will be using the popular web-based anti-plagiarism engine, Turnitin.com! This service allows you to assure that no one other than you will turn in your work with impunity!
Here’s how you turn your paper in:
1. Go to the Turnitin.com website at http://www.turnitin.com and go through the process of creating a new user profile. To do this job, click on the large ‘Enter’ button, or the smaller ‘Enter turnitin.com’ button. Both paths get you to a page full of interesting information. Look for the ‘Create new user profile’ button to the right side. Press it. Be prepared with a valid e-mail address and a password of your choice.
2. Once you have setup your new user profile, you can login directly. In any case, you should have ended up at your own ‘student page’. In the upper left, look for a button to ‘join new class’. Press it. To join our class, use the ClassID: 1070995 and Enrollment Password: 7440student
3. Now your page should list PHYS7440. Click on PHYS7440. Then, click on the Assignments tab on the top of the page. At this point, you should see the ‘Final Paper’ and ‘Final Paper 2nd try'. Click on Turnitin! And follow the instructions to turn in either assignment.
I strongly encourage you to try the process early so that turning in your paper is not a nightmare. Since you have already completed the outline. Please turnitin for the practice. E-mail me if you experience difficulty with turning it in.
I really want you to turn things in via turnitin.com, just for the amusement. However, I also would like a hardcopy in my mailbox. That way, if there is any internet problem, we have a fallback. Turnitin sometimes has difficulty with figures too, so this way I'll have clean figures.
