Project Presentations

The oral presentations will be all day Thursday, Dec. 14 . Please come to as many of the talks as you can. The presentations will be held in the west end of the advanced lab (the optics lab). A schedule for the talks is posted on the class website. Please check that you can be present at your assigned time and that your title and partner are listed correctly. Send an e-mail to Heather Lewandowski if you have corrections.

Single speakers have 10 minutes and teams of two or three have 15 minutes. Please plan to finish two minutes early to leave time for questions. We will have an overhead transparency projector and an LCD projector in case you want to bring your presentation on a laptop or memory stick. You must prepare visual aids to go along with your presentation. Typically these will include a title slide, slides describing your circuit, slides showing any data or other results, and a conclusion slide. Demonstrations of your project are encouraged. There will be a table in the presentation area for you to set up your demos before your talk. There will not be time to move the entire audience to the electronics lab for a demo. Teams should divide their time so that everyone participates in the presentation. Be sure to practice your presentation in front of an audience until you are sure that it can be understood and that it is the correct length.

Final Reports

For your final projects, every student must prepare their own written report.  If you are working with a partner, you must each write your own report just as you did for previous lab reports in this class.  Your written report should include your goals, complete circuit diagrams with component values and/or part numbers, explanations that demonstrate that you understand how the circuit works, a clear presentation of any measurements and data, and conclusions.
The reports are due on Monday, Dec. 18th, by 5:00 pm.  Reports should be placed in the mailbox of your lab section instructor (Dan Dessau, Heather Lewandowski, or Debbie Jin).  Because we have a hard deadline for turning in the course grades, we will not be able to accept reports after 5:00 pm on Dec. 18th.  (Of course you are welcome to turn your report in early.)
