Faraday Disk Generator

This week were are studying how electric charges are made to flow in materials by mechanical motion. The picture shows one of the first electric generators, developed by Michael Faraday.


Week 3 - January 24 - January 28:

  • OFFICE HOURS THIS WEEK: Regular office hours will start this week, Mondays 3-4.5-6 in G-2B75/77 and Tuesdays 4-5:30 in G-2B60.

  • WRITTEN HOMEWORK: HW#2 is due Wednesday January 26th, at the start of class. The problems can be found at the assignments link (always available on the sidebar). Solutions to HW1 are now posted on the CU-LEARN site.

  • READING: This week we study motional EMF as well as induction. Read Griffiths' sections 7.1.3 and 7.2
