Here is a picture of a Faraday cage large enough to test the electromagnetic properties of a bus. (For example, how does a cell phone work if it's inside the bus?) This screened room is made by Frankonia. They also make entire rooms for special situations. Check out their copper room.
Week 4 - February 2-6:
- OFFICE HOURS THIS WEEK: Monday office hours with Prof. Kinney will be in the tutorial bay, G2B77, from 3:00-4pm. Tuesday office hours will be just down the hall in G2B83 and run from 4-6:00pm. If you cannot come to one of these sessions, send me an email, and I'll try to find another time.
- WRITTEN HOMEWORK: HW#4 is due Wednesday February 4in class. The problems can be found at the assignments link (always available on the sidebar).
- READING: We're completing Electric Potentials, Electric Potential Energy, and starting Conductors, Griffiths' 2.4 and 2.5.
- TUTORIALS: Tutorial #4 is this Friday (Feb 6) at 4pm at the G2B tutorial bay G2B77. Tutorials #1 - #3 are posted on the assignments page.
- HW SOLUTIONS: Solutions to HW1, HW2, and HW3 are now posted on our CULearn page.
