Breaking news:

Friday, July 1. Final Exam results: Average score 62%, standard deviation 14%. Course grades have been posted. Thanks for being good students and working real hard. Enjoy a well-deserved break, and if you don't take PHYS 2020 - the rest of the Summer.

Thursday, June 23. Exam III results: Average score 59%, standard deviation 17%.

Thursday, June 16. Exam II results: Average score 70% (good job!), standard deviation 17%.

Friday, June 10. Exam I results: Average score 63%, standard deviation 16%. Your scores have been uploaded to CULearn, so you may go there and check your grade.

Tuesday, June 7. Our first Exam will take place this Thursday. Chapters 1 - 4 will be included. The emphasis will be on conceptual understanding, not so much on working problems (that's what's CAPA for.) It would be a good idea to go over these Questions at the end of each Chapter.

Monday, June 6. By a popular demand, CAPA deadlines for Sets 4 and 6 have been extended by 24 hours, so these sets are now due Monday nights, c.f. the Course Calendar link below.

Tuesday, May 31. There is a recitation room change: Recitation R110 is now in Duane G2B83 (R120 unchanged in G2B21.)

Monday, May 9. No breaking news yet, just a piece of advice: This is a standard physics class that during a Fall (or Spring) semester meets for 15 weeks, but during the Summer Session it is squeezed into 4 ˝ weeks, yet it still covers same amount of material! Pace will be extremely fast, new concepts will be introduced daily and you’ll be expected to master them by the next morning and prove your mastery by completing your homework assignment and then taking a quiz. Every day will be a challenge, and you'll find yourself working nights and weekends to stay current. All of this is doable if you are willing to commit 4 ˝ weeks of you life exclusively to physics, and I'm here to help, but please think again if you really want to take this class during the Summer - it is sooo much easier to take it in the Fall...
