In-class question

I am pulling rightwards on a rope, with a force "T1". The rope is attached to a block with mass M1. In turn, this block is connected via a second rope to another block with mass M2.

How do the magnitudes of the tensions in the rope compare?

BLUE: T2 > T1

YELLOW: T2 < T1

GREEN: T2 = T1

PURPLE: Answer depends on whether surface is frictionless or not.
