Questions and answers for Phys 1240

Please send me your questions. (Put Phys1240 in the subject line) They may be about anything - this week's homework assignment, course content, course administration, or whatever. If appropriate, I will email an answer to you directly. Or, in many cases (where I think the question might be of general interest), I will instead post an anonymized version of the q+a on this page instead. (I'll chop your name off the posting)

Note: I have moved many of the older questions into a separate file - see the bottom of this page for a link if you want to go back to any of those!

If our demo of a bagpipe intrigues you, there are lots of web pages to learn more about this unusual instrument. (E.g, check out http://www.hotpipes.com/tuning.html)

Fun links from students. Send more, I'll post them here!

Here's a little "visualization" of music that's quite creative.

Rodrigo y Gabriella, : they use alot of what we talked about in class, rhythm guitar and harmonics.

The geek group music videos.

Raven Homelab 2: a variety of questions and answers!

I've gotten a bunch of questions about this, so I just made a separate web page that's got my responses. It's here, with answers about software bugs, adjustments, what to plot, and more.

Note: this course has a CULearn website with a threaded discussion set up - you are welcome to go there and ask each other questions (and respond!) I may respond too from time to time, but email me directly if you really want ME to give you an answer. That discussion group is meant for you to help one another (especially handy late at night after I'm asleep and the homework set is coming up. Just bear in mind, I'll keep an eye on it!) https://culearn.colorado.edu/webct/entryPageIns.dowebct
