Week 1: (Aug 22-25) Read the syllabus (get familiar with the web page).
Read Hall Chapter 1. and/or read my lecture notes for Ch. 1 (in pdf) Do let me know if you find serious typos! These are just a rough draft.

Optional: You are welcome to look at concept tests for chapter one before class if you want. (I'll post some answers, but not till we're done with the material...)
