Physics 1120, General Physics 2: Electricity, Magnetism, and Optics

Instructors: Steven Pollock and Victor Gurarie

This solenoid is the heart of a Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) system. It has an inductance of 4.1 H, and it can handle up to 1050 A dc current. How much stored energy is that? Take an interactive tour of a SMES installation.

Week 11 Highlights:

Lectures this week on Chapter 32 and 33, Magnetism and Faraday's Law.

Chapter 32 (finish it up) and start Ch. 33 (we'll skip 33.9)
