Physics 1120, General Physics 2: Electricity, Magnetism, and Optics
Instructors: Victor Gurarie and Steven Pollock
Congratulations on completing this semester of
physics 1120! I leave you with this image of the Earth (the dot in the middle) as seen from 3.7 billion miles away by the Voyager 1 spacecraft. It is through electromagnetic radiation that we know the universe, and it is through electromagnetic radiation that the universe knows us, sitting here, on our pale blue dot.
Semester is done!
- Exams have been graded (see usual "exam info" link for details for the class as a whole). You can see your own grade (including the final exam, and your course grade for the term) on our CULearn page
- You can still check out my virtual office hours - I have been getting more and more fun and interesting questions at the end of the term.
- Looking for holiday presents? I asked
Mike Thomason, who is responsible for all the
wonderful lecture demos we have had all semester!
Here are his suggestions for links specifically for buying physics toys:
(like, super strong magnets, polarizers, lots of stuff like that)
(1) scitoys.com Mike
T's absolute favorite.
(MatchRockets.com overlaps but he "prefers the simplicity of SciToys".)
(2) edsci.com Edmunds
(3) Third place is a tie:
Arbor Scientific , or
