Week 1 Highlights:

Welcome to Physics 2!
First lecture is Mon Aug 23, 2004 in Duane Physics G-1B20.
Recitation sections will meet Tuesday the first week of classes.

The first LON-CAPA is due this Friday Aug 27. (It's mostly review. See below for login notes) In the future, please note that CAPA will be due Thursday night (in fact technically Fri at 8AM), not Friday night!

The first recitation homework problems will be due in your recitation section next week (Tues Aug 31) Click on the 'Assignments' link on the left of the screen, to get all assignments each week. (There are generally several different things you need to do each week: CAPA homework, a long answer writeup, tutorial homework, and tutorial pretests.) All are on a regular schedule, but check the assignment page if yo're not sure what's due when!

Reading for this week:

Chapter 22 and 23 of Halliday, Resnick and Walker (6E), on electric charge and electric fields.

Special notes:

• You need to register your clicker - please go to our clicker info page and follow the link there .
• CAPA is a little different than last semester - to log into LON-CAPA, go to the LON-CAPA link (always available on the left of this main page) Your student ID number will be your username and your password. Once logged in, there will be a PREF button at the bottom center of the remote control that should appear, you can then change your password. (If you do, please don't forget it!!)
  
  
• If you registered late (i.e. after the semester started), you might not be in the CAPA system. We upload the new university roster every evening! If you still can't get in, though (try logging in as described above first!) send an email to Prof. Dubson with your full name, recitation section number, and student ID, and he'll get you on the system.
• The bookstore has new tutorial books in!
