Physics 1110, Fa 2003
Taking lecture notes is an important part of any
class, but in Phys 1110, with the large number of concept tests,
demos, and high level of interactive engagement,
you may prefer to just concentrate on participating. So, I provide you here
with a variety of "notes". I will try to get them here before lectures
- feel free to print what you like, you can bring them with you to class
if you like!
-
DAILY SUMMARY and READINGS
These are very brief - just one liners.
(This may not update until after the lecture, for obvious
reasons.) I will try to include your reading assignments here as well.
-
CONCEPT-TESTS
from the lectures
(so you don't feel you have to write down the questions during class!!)
-
LECTURE NOTES
These are quite detailed. Since
I don't generally "lecture", these are my own summary of the important
concepts (with examples) for the chapter we're in. I
want YOU to start coming up with your own summaries like this, so I will
not continue to provide these all semester. But, I'll generate them
for the first half of the course.
-
ASSIGNMENTS
from this week ( in case you miss a class or get confused about what's due
when)
-
PRETEST QUESTIONS
These are pdf versions of the pretest questions you do before tutorials.
One goal of each tutorial is that, by the time you're done, you
should have a good understanding of what was on the pretest, and have
developed some confidence and understanding of the material. Pretests are
"up" only for a few days a week, so if you miss one (or just want to go
back later and remind yourself of what it asked), you can find them here.
I would be very interested to know if you think this page is of any
use,
feedback is welcome!
