Questions and answers for Phys 1110

Please email me your questions at Steven.Pollock@colorado.edu They may be about this week's homework assignment, or course administration, or whatever. If appropriate, I will email an answer to you directly. Or, in many cases (where I think the question might be of general interest), I will instead post an anonymized version of the q+a on this page instead. (I'll chop your name off the posting)

Nice feedback!

Dr. Pollock,

Hi! I know that you love feedback so here I go. At first and
throughout the course I really didn't like this class because I thought
that there was way too much homework. I absolutey hated tutorials
because I didn't understand them. I also thought that I absolutely
sucked at physics because of my exam grades and how I never knew what
the tutorials were talking about. BUT in the end I realized everything
that you were trying to get everyone to see. The tutorials definitely
helped me get together with others and work on them as well as seek a
tutor. I learned so much from others and made friends on the way as
well. Also, after checking my answers for the final on the web I
realized that all the ones I missed, I knew why...it was dumb mistakes
AND that's when I thought...I understand physics! I was always the one
that voted that understanding physics takes a lot of natural talent and
doesn't have much to do with effort. This class proved me wrong in the
end....I put a lot into participation, hw, and into exams but I just
don't have the test taking skills. Although I did so bad on my exams I
had a B- in the class! I just wanted to let you know that even though
I have a B- in the class I feel as though I have an A in the
understanding of physics and that's all I need to keep me happy.

...

Thanks a lot for a great semester and I hope that you will keep that
spark you have for physics!

Here are ONLY the more "fun" questions , the ones that were not about CAPA or exams, but just about something physics-y that was interesting!
