Physics 1110,
General Physics 1
I've decided to call this picture "(m)ass too small."
Balance and equilibrium are key in life - sometimes people are (or
should be) more concerned with how to make things balance (i.e. NOT
move) than how to make them move! Architects are very concerned with
balance, as are structural engineers, trapeze artists, Tai Chi
masters,...
Week 12 Highlights:
Static equilibrium
This week, we're in Ch 13 of HRW, finishing section 6 of Thinkwell on
static equilibrium, moving on to Simple Harmonic Motion soon
Special notes:
- Exam 3 is Tuesday, Nov 18. See the exams and grades link for more
info.
- If you're curious now, Carl Wieman and Eric Cornell's Nobel BEC
page is here.
- As always, I will hold a special office hour, Monday Nov 17 at 6 PM in in G-125. (That's one floor HIGHER than the lecture halls). I don't prepare anything, it's just an opportunity to ask questions, if you like.
