In this version of Fluorescent Lights (v1r1)
Click to launch:
What's new
- This is the first whack at the simulations
- Atoms have 5 energy states
- All eleveated energy states have a lifetime of 0.
- When an atom leaves an elevated energy state, it always falls to the ground state.
- When an atom is struck by an electron, the state it goes to is randomly selected between
its current state (exclusive) and the highest energy state the electron could bump it to. The
electron's kinetic energy is reduced by the difference in energy between the atom's former state
and its new state.
Features to be added
- Move slider from the control panel to the battery
Questions
- Should there be a display of energy levels similar to that in the Laser's simulation?
- Should different types of atoms be selectable, with different behaviors?
- Is the battery a good representation of the electron source?
Known problems
- Electron dissappears after it strikes an atom.
- Too numerous to mention
